NASA NEWS CONF ON UPCOMING JAXA/ESA SPACEWALK, Sept 10, 2021, JSC/virtual, 2:00 pm ET

NASA will hold a news conference at Johnson Space Center (JSC) and virtually on September 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm ET to discuss a spacewalk that will take place on September 12. The briefing (and the spacewalk) will air on NASA Television, the agency’s website, and the NASA app.

The spacewalk, EVA 77, was originally scheduled for August 24 with NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei and JAXA astronaut Aki Hoshide. Vande Hei is suffering from a pinched nerve in his neck, however, and it had to be postponed. Now ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet will replace him.

This will be the first spacewalk with two international partner astronauts instead of one NASA and one international partner astronaut.
