NASA TO ANNOUNCE HUMAN LANDING SYSTEM (HLS) WINNER, Apr 16, 2021, virtual, 4:00 pm ET

NASA announced this afternoon, April 16, 2021, that at 4:00 pm ET it will reveal the winner of the contract to build a Human Landing System (HLS) to take astronauts from lunar orbit down to and back from the lunar surface.

Participants are:

• Acting NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk
• Kathy Lueders, associate administrator for NASA’s Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate
• Mark Kirasich, deputy associate administrator for NASA’s Advanced Exploration Systems division
• Lisa Watson-Morgan, HLS program manager
• Tyler Cochran, HLS contracting officer
