The National Air and Space Museum will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the Moon over 5 days in July 2019. It begins on July 16, the day the Apollo 11 crew launched from Kennedy Space Center, FL, through July 20, the day Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the Moon.

July 16, Armstrong’s spacesuit will go on display for the first time in 13 years.
July 18-20, Apollo 50 Festival on the National Mall
- July 18: 9 am to 5 pm
- July 19: 9 am to 5 pm
- July 20: 9 am to 8 pm
July 19 will be Discover the Moon Day! at the museum with a program of educational and fun family activities.
On July 20, the museum will host programming and educational activities. A celebration will culminate at the exact time (10:56 pm ET) Armstrong set foot on the Moon. The public will be able to visit the museum until 2:00 am ET.
