NEIL ARMSTRONG’S SPACESUIT BACK ON DISPLAY AT NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM, July 16, 2019, DC, 10:00 am ET

As part of the Apollo 11 50th anniversary celebration, Neil Armstrong’s spacesuit from the Apollo 11 landing will go on display for the first time in 13 years on July 16, 2019, the anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11, at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) in Washington, DC. As the NASM explains:

The spacesuit recently underwent an extensive conservation process funded by thousands of public donations through a Kickstarter campaign in 2015. A state-of-the-art display case and mannequin were created to help protect the fragile suit while on display.

It will be displayed in the Wright Brothers gallery across from the piece of the Wright flyer that Neil Armstrong took with him to the Moon in 1969.

At a media event at 8:30 am ET, Vice President Mike Pence, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, and NASM Director Ellen Stofan are scheduled to make brief remarks.  The museum opens to the public at 10:00 am ET.
