NOAA MEDIA TELECON ON UPCOMING GOES-S LAUNCH, Feb 1, 2018, virtual, 1:00 pm ET

NOAA will hold a media teleconference on February 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm ET to discuss the upcoming launch of GOES-S, the second satellite in the GOES-R series of four advanced geostationary weather satellites. The launch itself is scheduled for March 1, 2018 at 5:02 pm ET. It will be redesignated GOES-17 once in orbit. NOAA plans to place it in the “GOES-West” orbital location once it is operational, replacing the older-generation GOES-15.
