OSIRIS-REX DEPARTS ASTEROID BENNU, May 10, 2021, 4:00 pm ET

NASA TV will provide live coverage of the departure of the OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return mission from asteroid Bennu on May 10, 2021 beginning at 4:00 pm ET.
O-REx collected samples of Bennu last year, but has been waiting to begin its trip back home until Bennu and Earth were correctly aligned again. It is very far from Earth and will not arrive here until September 24, 2023. The capsule containing the samples will detach from the main spacecraft and descend to Earth, landing at the Utah Test and Training Range southwest of Salt Lake City.
