PREVIEWING JAPAN PRIME MINISTER KISHIDA’S VISIT TO WASHINGTON (CSIS), Apr 8, 2024, DC, 10:00-10:45 am ET

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will hold an event on April 8, 2024 from 10:00-10:45 am ET at its offices at 1616 Rhode Island Ave, NW, Washington, DC. It will be webcast.

The U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Rahm Emanuel, and Japan’s Ambassador to the United States, Yamada Shigeo, will preview the visit to the United States by Japan’s Prime Minister Kishida taking place this week from Tuesday-Thursday (Apr 9-11).

CSIS President John Hamre will make opening remarks. The fireside chat with the two ambassadors will be moderated by CSIS Senior Advisor and Japan Chair Christopher Johnstone. More information is on the event’s website.

The U.S. and Japan have extensive cooperation in space science and space exploration, including the Artemis program, but whether those topics will arise is unknown.
