ROLL-OUT OF SLS/ORION FOR THE WDR TEST, Mar 17-18, 2022, KSC, 6:00 pm ET
Event Navigation
Beginning about 6:00 pm ET on March 17, 2022 and lasting 6-12 hours, NASA plans to roll-out the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket with an Orion crew spacecraft from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at Kennedy Space Center, FL to the launch pad for a Wet Dress Rehearsal (WDR) test. It is called “wet” because the rocket will be fully fueled as the launch team goes through a practice countdown.
This is the first SLS/Orion combination and will launch on a test flight around the Moon later this year. The mission, Artemis I, will not carry a crew. The launch date will be set after this WDR test is conducted and the results analyzed.
Live coverage of the roll-out on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website will begin at 5:00 pm ET and will include live remarks from NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and others.
