SENATE COMMERCE CMTE MARKUP OF NASA ENHANCED USE LEASING BILL, Dec 11, 2019, DC, 10:00 am ET

The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee will meet in Executive Session on December 11, 2019 at 10:00 am ET in G-50 Dirksen Senate Office Building.  Among the many bills that will be considered is S. 2909 (Wicker), NASA Enhanced Use Leasing Extension Act.  It is an extension of authority for NASA to lease non-excess property for two more years, from December 31, 2019 to December 31, 2021.

Under this authority, NASA is allowed to lease underutilized areas on NASA property to the private sector, state and local governments, and universities, and use the money for facilities maintenance, capital revitalization, and real property improvements.   Rep. Steve Palazzo introduced a companion bill in the House (H.R. 4304).
