SOYUZ MS-23 PORT RELOCATION, Apr 6, 2023, Earth orbit, NASA TV begins 4:15 am ET
Event Navigation
The crew of Soyuz MS-23 — Russia’s Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin and NASA’s Frank Rubio — will fly the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft from its current docking port on the Poisk module to the docking port on the Prichal module on April 6, 2023.
Such port relocations are not unusual. The entire crew must be in the spacecraft just in case something goes awry and they cannot redock and must return to Earth.
This crew arrived on ISS on Soyuz MS-22 but is spending an extra six months on ISS because that spacecraft experienced a coolant leak and was not considered safe enough to return them. Soyuz MS-23 is a replacement spacecraft that will bring them home in September. Meanwhile, other Russian spacecraft will need to use the Poisk docking port.
The crew will undock from Poisk at 4:42 am ET and redock at Prichal about 40 minutes later at 5:21 am ET.
NASA TV coverage begins at 4:15 am ET.
