SPACE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 16 (SDG 16): PEACE, JUSTICE & STRONG INSTITUTIONS, July 9, 2020, virtual, 10:00-11:30 am ET

The Secure World Foundation and the Space Enabled research group will host the next in their series of webinars on July 9, 2020 from 10:00-11:30 am ET.

The virtual series strives to “engage a multi-sector audience in discussions on how space technologies and geospatial applications contribute to better outcomes in critical fields around the world, such as energy, food security, poverty, and governance. Held twice a month, the events will bring together stakeholders working in companies, nonprofits, academia, and government to highlight initiatives taken to progress toward the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using a truly transformative multi-stakeholder approach.”

This webinar focuses on SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions. Speakers are:

  • Prof Jamon Van Den Hoek, Assistant Professor of Geography and Geospatial Science in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) at Oregon State University
  • Prof Doreen Boyd, Rights Lab Associate Director (Data and Measurement Programme) and Professor of Earth Observation
  • Einar Bjørgo, Director, Satellite Analysis and Applied Research at United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)
  • Krystal Azelton (Moderator), Director of Space Applications Programs at Secure World Foundation
