SPACE EXPLORATION: ACHIEVEMENTS OF PAST 50 YEARS, AMBITIONS FOR FUTURE (USRA), Apr 23, 2019, DC, 1:00-5:00 pm ET

UPDATE, APRIL 23:  The event will be webcast.

Original Entry: The Universities Space Research Association (USRA) will hold a half-day symposium on April 23, 2019 from 1:00-5:00 pm ET at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) building, 2101 Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, DC on “Space Exploration: Achievements of the Past 50 years and Ambitions for the Future.”

A revised agenda was circulated on April 17.  Originally, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine was listed as a speaker, but he is no longer speaking.

However, Scott Pace, Executive Secretary of the National Space Council, has been added.  Other speakers include NAS President Marcia McNutt, European Space Agency Director General Jan Woerner, Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt, former NASA mathematician and aeronautical engineer Christine Darden (who was among the African-American female mathematicians featured in Hidden Figures), and USRA Senior Advisor and Historian David Cummings.
