Update, July 24: The NASA TV schedule shows this as occuring at 1:00 pm ET on July 27, but with the notation that the time is subject to change.
Original Entry: NASA and Boeing will conduct a pre-launch news conference for the uncrewed Orbital Flight Test-2 (OFT-2) of Boeing’s Starliner commercial crew spacecraft on July 27, 2021. Launch is scheduled for July 30 at 2:53 pm ET.
The time is TBA, and will be no earlier than one hour after completion of the Launch Readiness Review. [The Flight Readiness Review is the previous Thursday, July 22.]
Participants in the pre-launch news conference are:
- Steve Stich, manager, NASA’s Commercial Crew Program
- Joel Montalbano, manager, NASA’s International Space Station Program
- Jennifer Buchli, deputy chief scientist, NASA’s International Space Station Program
- John Vollmer, vice president and program manager, Boeing Commercial Crew Program
- Gary Wentz, vice president, Government and Commercial Programs, ULA
- Will Ulrich, launch weather officer, U.S. Space Force, 45th Weather Squadron
The briefing will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.
