THE AIR FORCE OF THE FUTURE (CSIS), Oct 29, 2019, DC, 3:00-5:00 pm ET (webcast)

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will host a discussion of “The Air Force of the Future” on October 26, 2019 from 3:00-5:00 pm ET at its offices at 1616 Rhode Island Ave., NW, Washington, DC.  It will be webcast.

More information is on the event’s website, which provides the following description.

What will the U.S. Air Force look like in 2030? What combination of aircraft will be needed to face the threats of the future? Three different organizations were tasked by Congress to figure out just that: the U.S. Air Force, the MITRE Corporation, and the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments. These three studies vary in their approach, methodology, and detail.

During this session, Todd Harrison will release his assessment of the three studies. Mr. Harrison will be joined by a stellar panel of airpower experts to lend their thoughts on the future construct of the U.S. Air Force.

Speakers are:

  • Todd Harrison, Director, Defense Budget Analysis, Director, Aerospace Security Project, Senior Fellow, International Security Program, CSIS
  • Valerie Insinna, Reporter, Defense News
  • Heather Penny, Senior Resident Fellow, Mitchell Institute
  • Jeremiah Gertler, Specialist in Military Aviation, Congressional Research Service
  • Mark Gunzinger, Director of Future Aerospace Concepts and Capabilities Assessments, Mitchell Institute
