Event Navigation
The Planetary Society will hold a webinar on February 25, 2026 at 3:00 pm ET to discuss “How We Used AI to Help Save NASA Science: Lessons on Using AI as a Force Multiplier.”
More information and registration instructions are on the event’s website, which says:
AI is more than just a chatbot. Used well, it can be a force multiplier that leads to dramatic gains in productivity and reductions in contractor and software costs.
AI was a key tool in The Planetary Society’s efforts to Save NASA Science in 2025. In the face of our biggest advocacy challenge in our organization’s history, we deployed a range of innovative applications of AI in our work. Not every experiment was a success, but many were. And ultimately, AI tools enabled our two-person advocacy team to perform on par with teams twice our size working with significantly more resources — all for less than an annual subscription to POLITICO Pro.
Join this webinar to learn how we approached AI not just as a tool for chatting, but as a researcher, copyeditor, administrative support specialist, coding partner, and brainstorming partner. We’ll share both first-hand lessons and research-backed insights into AI’s strengths, its weaknesses, and the learning process required to better integrate this vast and rapidly evolving capability.
We will also highlight our responsible approach to AI, including privacy and data security. This webinar is designed for a range of expertise, from the AI-curious to daily users of frontier models. Anyone who does policy work may find value in this presentation.
