POSTPONED AGAIN

U.S./ESA SPACEWALK AT ISS, ?? 2023, Earth orbit

Update, October 17: The spacewalk has been postponed again until “later this year” as NASA continues to assess the impact of the coolant leak from Nauka.  However, the October 30 spacewalk is still on as of this date.  This was to have been Spacewalk 89, but that designation will now be assigned to the October 30 spacewalk.  A Russian spacewalk is scheduled for October 25 and they will take a closer look at Nauka.

Update, October 13 and 14: The spacewalks have been rescheduled for October 19 and October 30.  This one is October 19 and will begin about 8:35 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins 7:00 am ET.

Update, October 11:  The spacewalks have been postponed because one of the Russian space station modules, Nauka, leaked coolant on Monday and NASA is still determining if that might pose a hazard to spacewalking astronauts.

Original Entry: NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara and ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen will conduct a spacewalk at the International Space Station on October 12, 2023 starting at 10:00 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins at 8:30 am ET.

O’Hara will conduct a second spacewalk on October 20, that time with NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli. See our separate calendar entry for more information.

Both spacewalks are to conduct a variety of maintenance tasks on the ISS exterior.

This will be the first spacewalk for each of them.
