U.S.-JAPAN COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES IN SPACE (BCIU), June 22, 2021, virtual, 8:00 pm ET

The Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) will hold a webinar on June 22, 2021 at 8:00 pm ET on “U.S.-Japan Collaboration Opportunities in Space: A Virtual Discussion with Space Industry Leaders and Mr. Garvey McIntosh, NASA Representative for Asia.”

This is an off-the-record virtual discussion with industry leaders on U.S.-Japan collaboration opportunities in space. The session will provide details on what strengths Japanese industry brings to the table, the challenges to expanded collaboration between U.S. and Japanese industry, and what forms of support the two governments can lend to further growth and development of the space industry. This discussion is organized jointly by the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, U.S. Embassy Tokyo and BCIU.

Presentation topics include:

  • Sustainable Infrastructure in Orbit — Perspectives from Japan and the United States
  • Past, Current and Future of the U.S. and Japanese Lunar Industries
  • Exciting Business Opportunity of Using Earth Observation Data

Following the presentations by industry leaders, participants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives, raise questions and identify topics for further comment and discussion. Participants are welcome to submit topics in advance to ensure full coverage of the issue in the discussion.
