U.S. SPACE FORCE CHANGE OF RESPONSIBILITY CEREMONY, Sept 3, 2026

The “Change of Responsibility” ceremony for Gen. Douglas Schiess to assume command of the U.S. Space Force from Gen. B. Chance Saltzman will take place on September 3, 2026 according to the USSF.  Schiess will become the third Chief of Space Operations following Saltzman and Gen. John “Jay” Raymond.

“Change of Responsibility” instead of “Change in Command” for the CSO transition was first used when Saltzman succeeded Raymond.
