U.S. SPACEWALK AT ISS (2 of 2), Mar 23, 2022, Earth orbit, 8:50 am ET

Update, March 18:  The two astronauts who will perform this spacewalk are NASA’s Raja Chari and ESA’s Matthias Maurer (Germany).

Original Entry: Two astronauts will make a spacewalk at the International Space Station on March 23, 2022 beginning at about 8:50 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins 7:30 am ET.

Another spacewalk is scheduled for March 15. The crew members for the March 23 spacewalk will be determined after that according to NASA’s press release.

The purpose of this spacewalk is to “install hoses on a Radiator Beam Valve Module that routes ammonia through the station’s heat-rejecting radiators to keep systems at the proper temperature. The crew members will also install a power and data cable on the Columbus module’s Bartolomeo science platform, replace an external camera on the station’s truss, and conduct other upgrades to station hardware.”  It will last approximateoy 6.5 hours.
