VP HARRIS AWARDS CONGRESSIONAL SPACE MEDAL OF HONOR TO “BOB AND DOUG,” Jan 31, 2023, DC, 4:15 pm ET

Vice President Kamala Harris will present the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to former NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on January 31, 2023 at 4:15 pm ET.

“Bob and Doug” became renowned and beloved as the test pilots of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station on Demo-2 in May 2020.

Both retired from NASA. Hurley now is a Senior Director for Northrop Grumman, which is one of the two companies that resupplies the ISS with cargo launches of the Cygnus spacecraft.  Behnken works for Lockheed Martin Space, which builds the Orion spacecraft for the Artemis program.

The ceremony will air on NASA Television, the agency’s website, and the NASA app, as well as the agency’s flagship Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube channels.
