YVONNE C. BRILL LECTURE on “ROTORCRAFT–THE NEW FRONTIER IN EXTRAPLANETARY EXPLORATION,” Oct 5, 2026, DC, 1:00-2:15 pm ET

Marilyn J. Smith will present a lecture on “Rotorcraft — the New Frontier in Extraplanetary Exploration” on October 5, 2026 at the National Academies’ Keck Center, 500 5th St., NW, Washington, DC, from 1:00-2:15 pm ET, followed by a reception.

Smith is the David S. Lewis Professor of Aerospace Engineering in the School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Director of the Georgia Tech Army/Navy/NASA Vertical Lift Research Center of Excellence, and recipient of the 2026 Yvonne C. Brill Lectureship in Aerospace Engineering from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the National Academy of Engineering (NAE).  She is presenting her lecture in conjunction with the NAE’s annual meeting.
