NASA UPDATE ON ISS CREW MEMBER WITH MEDICAL CONCERN, Jan 8, 2026, DC/online, 5:00 pm ET
Event Navigation
NASA announced this afternoon it will hold a briefing at 5:00 pm ET to provide an update on the ISS crew member who is being monitored for a “medical concern.”
Yesterday NASA said it was postponing a spacewalk that was scheduled for today because a crew member is being monitored for a medical concern. It did not identify the crew member or the medical issue for privacy reasons. A few hours later it announced it was evaluating options including the possibility of bringing Crew-11 home earlier than planned.
The briefing will take place at NASA HQ in Washington DC and livestreamed on NASA+, Amazon Prime, and NASA’s YouTube Channel.
Participants are:
- NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman
- Amit Kshatriya, associate administrator
- Dr. James Polk, chief health and medical officer, NASA Headquarters
