NASA ROLLS ARTEMIS II SLS/ORION BACK TO VAB, Feb 25, 2026, time TBA
Event Navigation
Update, February 23: Due to weather, the rollback has been rescheduled for February 25 at 9:00 am ET.
Original Entry: Weather permitting, NASA plans to roll the Artemis II SLS/Orion stack back to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) on Tuesday, February 24. The exact time it will begin was not announced, but the journey takes 8-12 hours.
NASA’s February 22 press release is posted on the Artemis blog.
Artemis II was being readied for launch as soon as March 6, 2026 and successfully passed a Wet Dress Rehearsal on February 19, but early on February 21 a problem developed with helium flow into the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS). The problem can only be diagnosed and rectified inside the VAB rather than at the launch pad.
