CHANGES DUE TO SHUTDOWN NOTED

AMERICAN ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY WINTER MEETING 2019, Jan 6-10, 2019, Seattle, WA

UPDATES:  BECAUSE OF THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN, AAS reports that the following events have been cancelled or otherwise changed:

  • NASA Town Hall — cancelled (Replaced by a DOE Cosmic Frontier Town Hall.  DOE is not affected by the shutdown)
  • James Webb Space Telescope Town Hall — cancelled
  • NSF Town Hall — will go on as scheduled, but will be led remotely (NSF’s division director, Richard Green, is an employee of the University of Arizona on assignment to NSF, not a civil servant, so can participate from home, though not travel to the conference site)

Keep up to date at AAS’s blog.

Original Entry: The American Astronomical Society (AAS) will hold its 2019 winter meeting in Seattle, Washington from January 6-10, 2019.  More information is on the AAS website.
