NEW DATE

CREW-7 LAUNCH TO ISS, Aug 26, 2023, KSC, 3:27 am ET

Update, August 25: The launch has been postponed until Saturday, August 26 at 3:27 am ET.

Update, August 24: NASA has refined the launch time to 3:50 am ET. Weather is 90% favorable for launch.

Update, August 17: The launch is still on for August 25 at 3:49 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins at 11:45 pm ET on August 24 and continues through docking on August 26 at 2:02 am ET, followed by hatch opening at 3:47 am ET and a welcome ceremony at 5:00 am ET.

NASA will provide continuous coverage of launch through docking, but only some of it will be on NASA TV.

Launch coverage on NASA TV begins 11:45 am ET August 24 and continues through launch, orbital insertion and nose cone deploy on August 25. After that, coverage will be audio only on mission audio circuits and on YouTube until 12:15 a.m. Saturday, August 26 when coverage of rendezvous, docking, hatch opening, and welcoming remarks resumes on NASA TV.

Update, August 3:  The date has been postponed yet again, still because of the pad turnaround issue.  New launch date is August 25 at 3:49 am ET.  If it goes then, it will dock on August 26 at 2:45 am ET.

Update, August 1: The launch has been postponed again to August 21 at 5:23 am ET.

The SpaceX launch of EchoStar’s Jupiter-3 was postponed a day, so Crew-7 has to be delayed because of the time needed to turn the launch pad around.  It’s not a day-for-day slip because the Crew-7 launch has to fit in with other operations on the ISS.  The next opportunity is this one, August 21. If it doesn’t go then for any reason, the next opportunity is August 25 at 3:49 am ET.

Update, July 25:  The launch date has been postponed to August 17 at 6:56 am ET because of the time needed to turn the launch pad (39A) around following a SpaceX launch for another customer. If the launch is on time, it will dock at ISS on August 18 at 2:45 am ET.

Original Entry: NASA and SpaceX will launch the next crew to the International Space Station, Crew-7, no earlier than August 15, 2023.

The crew is:

  • Jasmin Moghbeli (NASA)
  • Andreas Mogensen (ESA/Denmark)
  • Satoshi Furukawa (JAXA)
  • Konstantin Borisov (Roscosmos)
