Update, March 1, 2021:  The organizers have clarified the time for the event.  It is indeed 3:00-4:00 pm Central European Time (CET).  The website also now shows 14:00-15:00 WET, an abbreviation for Western European Time, one of the three time zones used by the European Union (WET, CET, and Eastern European Time) and corresponds to GMT.  Converted to Eastern Standard Time, the webinar is at 9:00-10:00 am.

Original Entry: The European Space Agency (ESA), Thales Alenia Space, Vieira de Almeida (VdA), Tekever Space and Thales will hold a webinar on March 5, 2021 on Cyber Security Regulations and Satellite Communication Systems: An Analysis of Applicability and Impact – Report on ESA ARTES CYBERSAT Study.

The event’s agenda shows the time as 3:00-4:00 pm (15:00-16:00) without specifying the time zone and the top of the website shows 3:00-4:00 pm CET (Central European Time). But it also says 14:00 and then 14:00-15:00 PT. PT is an abbreviation for Pacific Time, which is CET-9 hours, so that cannot be correct. We are assuming it is 3:00-4:00 pm CET, which is 9:00-10:00 am Eastern Standard Time. Check the event’s website for any clarification the sponsors may provide. The Webinar will provide an overview of the results of a study that was undertaken by Thales Alenia Space, Vieira de Almeida, Tekever Space and Thales on cybersecurity on satcom networks. This study was performed as part of the ARTES Future Preparation programme of the European Space Agency.

Cybersecurity is a topic of increasing importance and recent regulatory changes directly impact the space sector. The Webinar will address the EU legal and regulatory approach to cybersecurity on satcom networks, as well as the potential impact of cybersecurity regulations on satcom networks and services.
