U.S. SPACEWALK AT ISS, Mar 5, 2021, Earth orbit, 7:00 am ET
Event Navigation
NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi will conduct the second of a pair of spacewalks at the International Space Station on March 5, 2021 beginning at 7:00 am ET. The first is on February 28.
Rubins will have conducted three prior spacewalks by then (including the one on February 28 when she is paired with NASA astronaut Victor Glover). This will be Noguichi’s fourth.
Their task is to vent ammonia from the Early Ammonia System, install a “stiffener” on the Quest airlock thermal cover to prevent it from blowing out when residual atmosphere escapes as the hatch is opened, and remove and replace a wireless video transceiver assembly.
NASA TV coverage begins at 5:30 am ET.
