President Trump has declared December 5, 2018, as a national day of mourning to honor President George H.W. Bush, who died yesterday.
Trump issued an Executive Order today (December 1) directing all Executive Branch departments and agencies to close that day except for essential services.
President Bush will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol from Monday afternoon until 7:00 am ET on Wednesday, followed by a memorial service at the National Cathedral on December 5 beginning at 11:00 am ET. His body then will be flown back to Texas for another memorial service and burial.
