The topic is: “Deepening the U.S.-Japan Space Security Relationship.”
More information, the agenda, and list of participants are on the event’s website, which says:
On February 7, 2025, President Trump and Prime Minister Ishiba issued a United States-Japan Joint Leaders’ Statement affirming “their determination to pursue a new golden age for U.S.-Japan relations” and their intent to continue a strong partnership in space.
To highlight this deepening bilateral relationship and build off the recent CSIS report, From Earth to Uchū: The Evolution of Japan’s Space Security Policy and a Blueprint for Strengthening the U.S.-Japan Space Security Partnership, please join the Aerospace Security Project on Friday, April 11 at 1:00pm EDT for discussions with senior U.S. and Japanese officials and experts. This hybrid event will feature a fireside chat with Jun KAZEKI, Director-General, National Space Policy Secretariat, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, and Dr. Scott Pace, Director, Space Policy Institute at George Washington University and former Executive Secretary of the National Space Council, moderated by Kari A. Bingen, Director of the Aerospace Security Project at CSIS. They plan to discuss the importance of the U.S.-Japan space security relationship, reflect on progress, and highlight opportunities for strengthening the partnership in space. Follow-on panel discussions will explore the broader U.S.-Japan security relationship, how space fits into each nation’s national security strategy, and what an agenda for deepening space security cooperation should include.
