The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will hold an event on December 18, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 pm ET at CSIS’s offices, 1616 Rhode Island Ave., NW, Washington, DC, and online to discuss DOD’s forthcoming 2024 report on Military and Security Developments Involving the People’s Republic of China, commonly called the China Military Power Report. As required by Congress, DOD produces the report every year to assess China’s military strategies, ambitions, and capabilities.
Participants are:
- Dr. Ely S. Ratner, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs
- Dr. Michael S. Chase, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for China, Taiwan, and Mongolia
- Dr. Bonny Lin, director of the China Power Project and senior adviser at CSIS (moderator)
