FAA PUBLIC MTG ON INCREASING SPACEX LAUNCH/LANDING CADENCE AT BOCA CHICA, TX, Jan 13, 2025, virtual, 6:30-8:30 pm ET

Update, January 4, 2025:  This set of meetings was rescheduled for January 7 and January 9 for the in-person meetings (two each day) and January 13 for the virtual meeting. However, President Biden declared January 9 as a federal day of mourning for the late President Jimmy Carter and government offices will be closed, so the FAA canceled the meetings for that day.  Two in-person meetings still will take place on January 7 and the virtual meeting — for which pre-registration is required — is still January 13.

The new information is:

Update, August 12, 2024:  At 11:29 am ET this morning, the FAA issued a statement via email postponing these 5 public meetings without explanation. They said only that they apologize for any inconvenience and they’ll be rescheduled at a later time. They issued a revised statement thereafter adding that the docket remains open to receive public comments. The original statement is as follows:

Original Entry: As part of its Draft Tiered Environmental Assessment, the FAA will hold five meetings — four in-person and one virtual — in August 2024 to obtain public input on SpaceX’s application to increase the launch and landing cadence for Starship/Super Heavy at Starbase in Boca Chica, TX to up to 25 per year (25 Starship/Super Heavy orbital launches, 25 Starship landings, 25 Super Heavy landings).
