HAKUTO-R 1M/RASHID ROVER LANDING ON MOON, Apr 25, 2023, the Moon, 12:40 pm ET (livestreamed)
Event Navigation
Update, April 20: ispace says there will be a livestream beginning one hour in advance (11:40 am ET).
Original Entry: Japan’s ispace, a private company, has set April 25, 2023 EDT/UTC (April 26 Japan Standard Time) as the date for landing its Hakuto-R 1M lander, with the United Arab Emirates Rashid rover, on the Moon. This is a “no earlier than” date, with other opportunities on April 26, May 1 and May 3 UTC. If successful, it will be the first private company to land on the Moon, the first Japanese spacecraft on the Moon, and the first UAE lunar rover.
“Should conditions change, there are three alternative landing sites and depending on the site, the landing date may change. Alternative landing dates, depending on the operational status, are April 26, May 1, and May 3, 2023.”
