HOUSE E&C MARKUP OF PRECISION AGRICULTURE SATELLITE CONNECTIVITY BILL, Mar 4, 2025, DC, 2:00 pm ET

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will mark up 12 bills on March 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm ET.  The meeting will be webcast on the committee’s website.

One of the bills, H.R. 1339 (Latta), is space-related.

The “Precision Agriculture Satellite Connectivity Act” has been reintroduced from the 118th Congress. It passed the House on April 26, 2023, but there was no further action. The bill promotes the expanded use of satellites for precision agriculture by requiring the FCC to consult the Task Force for Reviewing the Connectivity and Technology Needs of Precision Agriculture, established in 2018, to determine if rules changes are needed to fixed satellite service, mobile satellite service, and earth exploration satellite services to promote precision agriculture and, if so, develop recommendations on how to implement them.
