HOUSE SS&T CMTE RESUMES MARKUP OF COMMERCIAL SPACE BILL, Nov 29, 2023, DC, 1:30 pm ET

The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee will resume markup of and vote on the Commercial Space Act, H.R. 6131, plus the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act, H.E. 6213, on November 29, 2023 in 2318 Rayburn House Office Building at 1:30 pm ET.  The meeting will be webcast.

LEGISLATION TO BE CONSIDERED:

H.R. 6213, The National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act

Reauthorizes the National Quantum Initiative Act ensuring continued U.S. leadership in quantum technology.

H.R. 6131, Commercial Space Act of 2023

Updates the government oversight of commercial space activities to promote, streamline, and strengthen the commercial space sector and enable the continuation of U.S. leadership in space.

The markup will be livestreamed online at https://science.house.gov.

 

 

Markup began on November 15, but final votes were delayed due to activity on the House floor and the Biden Administration’s decision to release its own proposal for mission authorization authority less than an hour before the markup began.
