ISPACE’S RESILIENCE LANDER/TENACIOUS ROVER LAND ON MOON, June 5, 2025, 3:17 pm EDT (June 6, 4:17 am JST), livestream begins June 5, 2:10 pm ET

Update, June 4:  The landing time has moved forward by 7 minutes, so is now at 3:17 pm ET Thursday (4:17 am JST Friday).

Original Entry: The Japanese company ispace will land their RESILIENCE lander with its TENACIOUS micro-rover on the Moon on June 6, 2025 at 4:24 am Japan Standard Time (June 5, 3:24 pm Eastern Daylight Time).

The spacecraft carrying the lander/rover, SBMC x HAKUTO-R Venture Moon, was launched on January 15, 2025 and entered lunar orbit on May 7 JST (May 6  EDT).

ispace will hold an in-person event for the landing at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) East Building, Rising Square 3F, SMBC Hall, 1-3-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, for media and invited guests.

The event will be livestreamed for the global audience beginning at 3:15 am JST (June 5, 2:15 pm EDT).  ispace says “While there will be no live images of the landing, a simulation featuring real-time telemetry from the HAKUTO-R Mission Control Center will be broadcast. Images are expected to be released after the landing is confirmed.”

A post-landing press conference will take place as well. Details are TBA as of May 14 EDT.

TOKYO—May 14, 2025—ispace, inc., a global lunar exploration company, will host a historic live event and provide online livestream coverage of the landing of Mission 2 SMBC x HAKUTO-R “Venture Moon”  on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 4:24 a.m. JST.

Live Event

The viewing event, hosted by SMBC, official partner of ispace’s Mission 2, will include approximately 400 invited guests, including employees, their families, HAKUTO-R partners, shareholders, and government officials and other VIPs. A media staging area will be set for shots of the live audience viewing the streaming event.

Note: For media attending the event in-person, Takeshi Hakamada, Founder & CEO of ispace, is expected to speak to media at an availability follow the closing of the live stream.

Livestream Viewing Event

ispace will host a livestream event and invite audiences from across the globe to view in real-time the historic landing of RESILIENCE on the lunar surface. The event will be hosted from Tokyo and streamed via social media channels to viewers around the world. 

While there will be no live images of the landing, a simulation featuring real-time telemetry from the HAKUTO-R Mission Control Center will be broadcast. Images are expected to be released after the landing is confirmed.
