LAUNCH OF NOAA’S GOES-S WEATHER SATELLITE, Mar 1, 2018, Cape Canaveral, FL, 5:02 pm ET

The United Launch Alliance (ULA) is scheduled to launch the next in NOAA’s new series of advanced Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites, GOES-S, on March 1, 2018 at 5:02 pm ET on an Atlas V rocket. The launch window is open for 2 hours.
GOES-S is the second of the “GOES-R” series of four weather satellites. GOES-R itself was launched in 2016 and is now operational. It has been renamed GOES-16. GOES-S will become GOES-17 once it is in orbit.
GOES-T and GOES-U will be launched in later years.
