NASA/AXIOM/SPACEX POST-FRR AXIOM-1 MEDIA TELECON, Mar 25, 2022, virtual, ~6:00 pm ET
Event Navigation
NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX will hold a media telecon on March 25, 2022 following the Flight Readiness Review (FRR) for the Axiom-1 (Ax-1) mission to the International Space Station. The telecon is tentatively scheduled for 6:00 pm ET, but could change if the FRR takes longer than expected in which case the telecon will take place 1 hour after it’s completed.
This is the first U.S. private astronaut mission to ISS (a previous private astronaut flight, Inspiration4, did not visit ISS). One Axiom employee (Michael López-Alegria, a former NASA astronaut who has made four spaceflights already) and three wealthy men will spend 8 days on ISS as part of this 10-day mission that is scheduled for launch on April 3.
Participants in the telecon are:
- Kathryn Lueders, associate administrator, NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate
- Dana Weigel, deputy manager, NASA’s International Space Station Program
- Angela Hart, program manager, NASA’s Commercial Low-Earth Orbit Program
- Michael Suffredini, president and CEO, Axiom Space
- Derek Hassmann, operations director, Axiom Space
- William Gerstenmaier, vice president, Build and Flight Reliability, SpaceX
Audio will be livestreamed on NASA Live.
