SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGE: BEYOND PLASTICS (ISS National Lab), Mar 25, 2022, virtual,1:00 pm ET,

The ISS National Lab will hold a virtual event on March 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm ET where presentations and awards will be made for its Sustainability Challenge: Beyond Plastics.

More information and a registration link are on the event’s website, which says:

How can we reduce the amount of plastic waste we put into the environment? By reimagining how we use plastic. By utilizing the unique characteristics of the orbiting laboratory, the ISS National Lab Sustainability Challenge: Beyond Plastics aims to do just that.

The Sustainability Challenge sought proposals from U.S.-based entities to develop flight projects that leverage the space station to tackle plastic waste and enable scientific or technological advancements that could help improve Earth’s environment. We intend to select one or more flight projects through this Sustainability Challenge.

CASIS will hold a virtual event on March 25, 2022, that will feature finalists’ recorded presentations and exciting guest speakers, culminating with an award ceremony recognizing the top ranked finalists. The event will be livestreamed to a global audience broadcast to viewers via Zoom. Following the event, finalists will be invited to submit a Full Proposal for a flight project leveraging the ISS National Lab, and the Final Determination for the selected team will be announced at the 2022 ISS Research and Development Conference July 25-28 in Washington, D.C.
