TIME CHANGE

NASA BFG ON CLIMATE EXPERIMENT ON SPX-25 CARGO LAUNCH TO ISS, July 13, 2022, KSC, 2:00 pm ET

Update, July 13: The time for this briefing has changed to 2:00 pm ET (instead of 3:00 pm ET) today.

Update, July 8:  The launch has been rescheduled for July 14 at 8:44 pm ET.

This pre-launch science briefing on the climate experiment is now scheduled for July 13 at 3:00 pm ET. Participants are:

  • Kate Calvin, NASA chief scientist and climate advisor
  • Heidi Parris, associate scientist, International Space Station Program, NASA
  • Mike Roberts, chief scientist, ISS National Lab
  • Rob Green, JPL senior research scientist and EMIT principal investigator
  • Paula do Vale Pereira, BeaverCube, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

It will air NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.

Update, June 6:  The launch has been postponed.

Original Entry: One of the experiments that will be launched to the ISS on the SpaceX-25 cargo mission is the Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT).

On June 9, the day before the SpX-25 launch, at 2:00 pm ET, NASA will hold a “climate conversation” briefing at Kennedy Space Center to discuss the experiment. Participants are:

  • Kate Calvin, NASA chief scientist and climate advisor
  • Dr. Kirt Costello, chief scientist, International Space Station Program, NASA
  • Natalie Mahowald, EMIT deputy principal investigator and professor of atmospheric science, Cornell University
  • Paula do Vale Pereira, BeaverCube, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

It will air on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.
