NASA News Conf with Peggy Whitson from ISS, Aug 30, 2017,
Event Navigation
UPDATE August 29: NASA has cancelled this media telecon because Johnson Space Center is CLOSED due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey.
NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson will hold the final news conference of her current mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on August 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm ET. She and two ISS crewmates will return to Earth on September 2.
Whitson holds the records for the longest cumulative time in space for a U.S. astronaut (665 days once she has landed), longest continuous duration in space for a woman (288 days), and for the most spacewalks (10) and the most time on spacewalks by a woman (60 hours 21 minutes). She also is the first woman to command the ISS twice — on this mission and when she was aboard in 2007-2008 (she also was on an ISS mission in 2002). At 57, she is also the oldest woman to fly in space.
Reporters may ask questions from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Johnson Space Center, or by phone. NASA’s press release provides more details.
The news conference will be broadcast on NASA’s website and NASA TV.
