NASA SCIENCE CHAT ON UPCOMING NEW HORIZONS ENCOUNTER WITH ULTIMA THULE, Sept 19, 2018, virtual, 1:00 pm ET

NASA will hold a “science chat” on September 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm ET about the upcoming encounter of the New Horizons spacecraft with the Kuiper Belt Object (KBO) nicknamed Ultima Thule.   New Horizons will fly past the KBO on New Year’s Eve.

Participants in the chat are:

  • Jim Green, NASA Chief Scientist
  • Alan Stern, New Horizons Principal Investigator, Southwest Research Institute
  • Alice Bowman, New Horizos Mission Operations Manager, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physical Lab

The event will air on Facebook Live, NASA Television, UstreamYouTube and the agency’s website.  The public can ask questions on Twitter using the hashtag #askNASA or by leaving a comment on the stream of the event on the New Horizons Facebook page.
