NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) will hold a virtual science community Town Hall meeting on April 15, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 pm ET to discuss NASA’s response to the second Independent Review Board (IRB) on the Mars Sample Return (MSR) mission. Science Mission Directorate Community Town Hall: NASA Response to Mars Sample Return Independent Review Board Report
NASA Headquarters Science Mission Directorate (SMD) will host a virtual town hall at 2 p.m. Eastern, 1 p.m. Central, 11 a.m. Pacific time on Monday, April 15, 2024. This event will discuss the agency’s response to the 2023 Mars Sample Return (MSR) Independent Review Board report available at https://www.nasa.gov/missions/mars-sample-return/nasa-releases-independent-reviews-mars-sample-return-report/. Members of SMD, the science community, academia, the media, and the public are invited to participate.

Immediately preceding this Town Hall, at 1:00 pm ET, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and SMD Associate Administrator Nicky Fox will brief the media on NASA’s plan for MSR’s path forward. That briefing will air on NASA TV and social media outlets.
