NATIONAL SPACE COUNCIL 6TH PUBLIC MEETING, Aug 20, 2019, Chantilly, VA, 9:30-11:30 am ET (WATCH ON C-SPAN, NASA TV)

The White House National Space Council will hold its 6th public meeting on August 20, 2019 at the National Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA, from 9:30-11:30 am ET.  It will focus on innovation in the space sector and highlighted by a panel of leaders in space science, engineering, and business.

Panelists are:

  • Rex Geveden, president and CEO of BWX Technologies
  • Clive Neal, University of Notre Dame
  • Saralyn Mark, founder and president of iGIANT (impact of Gender/Sex on Innovation and Novel Technologies) and SolaMed Solutions LLC, a consulting firm
  • Elizabeth (“Zibi”) Turtle, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab

Past Space Council meetings have been broadcast on NASA TV and/or the White House website.  UPDATE:  We’re told it will be live on C-SPAN (c-span.org).  And NASA now says it will be on NASA TV and NASA Live.

 

August 7:  Sandra Erwin, Space News, reports that a ceremony to establish U.S. Space Command will take place at the White House on August 20.  We have not been able to confirm that event. UPDATE, Aug 19:  Rumors now are that it may be August 21, not August 20.  UPDATE, Aug 20:  At the Space Council meeting, it was announced that this will take place on August 29.
