POST-LAUNCH BFG FOR LAUNCH OF ROMAN SPACE TELESCOPE, Aug 30, 2026, KSC, 9:30 am ET

NASA is planning to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope at 7:26 am ET on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Pre-launch briefings are scheduled for Saturday, August 29 (see our separate entry).

After the launch on Sunday, a post-launch briefing will take place at Kennedy Space Center at 9:30 am ET. Participants are:

• NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman
• Nicky Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters
• Jackie Townsend, Roman telescope project manager, NASA Goddard
• Julie McEnery, Roman telescope senior project scientist, NASA Goddard
• Denton Gibson, launch director, NASA’s Launch Services Program, NASA Kennedy

The event will be livestreamed, but NASA’s August 24 press release does not indicate on which NASA platforms. Check NASA Live for updates.
