On Tuesday, October 21, the event includes a panel from 11:00-11:45 am ET on “Reigniting Progress: The Democratic Vision for Space.”  More information is on the event’s website, which says:

In the 20th century, Democrats had an ambitious agenda of progress that inspired hope and awe in Americans. Perhaps nothing made it more tangible than NASA and America’s success in the space race. But fast forward to 2025, and America has retreated from its space ambitions. Can space return as an ideal for Democrats on the campaign trail? How can America return as a global leader in spacial progress? What are the obstacles preventing us from reaching the stars?

Participants are:

  • Mary Guenther, Head of Space Policy, PPI
  • Rep. George Whitesides (D-CA)
  • Francis (Poppy) Northcutt, Attorney & Former Engineer for NASA’s Apollo Program
  • Richard DalBello, Former Director, Office of Space Commerce, Department of Commerce
