STILL ANOTHER DELAY

RETURN OF SPX-29 CARGO MISSION FROM ISS, Dec 21, 2023, undocking 5:05 pm ET (NASA TV begins 4:45 pm ET)

Update, December 20:  Another delay due to weather. They now are targeting December 21 at 5:05 pm ET.  NASA TV coverage will begin at 4:45 pm ET.

Update, December 19: The time has changed to 9:05 pm ET.  NASA TV coverage begins at 8:45 pm ET.

Update, December 17:  Another postponement, again due to Florida weather. Now targeting December 20. Same undocking time: 5:05 pm ET.

Update December 16:  The undocking has been postponed yet another day, to Tuesday, December 19, because of continued bad weather in Florida.  The time remains the same.

Original entry: As of December 15, 2023, NASA and SpaceX planned to undock the SpX-29 Cargo Dragon spacecraft from the International Space Station on December 18, 2023 at 5:05 pm ET.  NASA TV coverage begins at 4:45 pm ET.

SpX-29’s return has been delayed day by day since Thursday because of bad weather in Florida. This is the one ISS cargo vehicle ISS that not only delivers supplies to the ISS, but  can return materials to Earth. It splashes down in the ocean off the east or west coast of Florida so weather conditions must be suitable.

NASA TV covers the spacecraft’s undocking, but there is no live coverage of the deorbit burn or splashdown.

Check NASA’s ISS blog for updates in case there are further delays.
