STARSHIP SECOND ORBITAL FLIGHT TEST, Nov 18, 2023, Boca Chica, TX, launch window opens 8:00 am ET (webcast)

Update, November 16:  The launch has been postponed one day to replace a grid fin actuator.

SpaceX Set to Launch Starship’s Second Flight Test

Noise Advisory

SpaceX is now targeting Saturday, November 18 for the second integrated flight test of Starship from Starbase in Cameron County, Texas. The 20-minute test window opens at 7:00 a.m. CT.

Residents of Cameron County and those in the nearby area may hear a loud noise resulting from the rocket’s 33 Raptor engines firing upon ignition and as the vehicle launches toward space, but what people experience will depend on weather and other conditions.

SpaceX’s live webcast will go live approximately 35 minutes before liftoff at spacex.com/launches. Live updates will also be available on X @SpaceX.

Update, November 15:  SpaceX is targeting Nov 17 for the test flight.  A two-hour launch window opens at 7:00 am Central Time (local time at the launch site in Texas), which is 8:00 am EST.  SpaceX’s webcast will go live approximately 30 minutes before liftoff.

NASASpaceflight.com, a commercial website not affiliated with NASA, will provide its own live coverage and commentary from Boca Chica beginning at midnight Central Time (1:00 am EST).

Update, November 15:  The FAA has given SpaceX the license for this test flight.

Original Entry: SpaceX says they are preparing to launch the second Orbital Flight Test, or Integrated Flight Test, of Starship “as early as November 17, pending final regulatory approval.”
