February 17, 2025 is a U.S. Federal Holiday, Washington’s Birthday, in observance of the birthday of George Washington, the first President of the United States.  Government offices will be closed.

Washington’s actual birthday is February 22.

President Abraham Lincoln’s birthday was February 12 and this holiday is also called Presidents’ Day in observance of both birthdays. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management refers to it as Washington’s Birthday as required by section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code, however.
