Original Entry: Space News will hold a free webinar on May 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm ET with Maj. Gen. John Shaw, Commander, Space Operations Command, U.S. Space Force, and head of U.S. Space Command’s Combined Forces Space Component.
Among other things, Shaw is responsible for “ensuring the renowned 45th Operations Group’s Detachment 3 team is ready at a moment’s notice to lead astronaut-recovery operations.”
The discussion will take place one day after the launch of SpaceX’s Demo-2 mission, the first launch of astronauts to orbit from American soil since the last space shuttle flight in 2011. If the Demo-2 launch is delayed, so will this event.
