WaPo's Awesome "Red Sky in Morning" Photo of Washington DC

The Washington Post’s (WaPo’s) Capital Weather Gang blog published this totally awesome photo of today’s sunrise in Washington, DC.

It is a view looking over the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial towards the U.S. Capitol, with the flag-encircled base of the Washington Monument in between.

The point of the photo is the old adage about “red sky in morning, sailors take warning” because we are going to get heavy rain this afternoon, but it certainly is beautiful.  Ambrose says in his post that the photo is untouched except for a slight cropping.

Editor’s Note:  I could try to make a link to space policy and talk about the important deliberations going on in the Capitol, but I really just wanted to share this amazing photo.
